Recovery of the Soul

The following poem is one I wrote a while back after a really rough period in my life. I have contemplated whether I wanted to place this out here on the web. The more I thought about it, I wanted to give those in a similar situation hope that they could get through any situation no matter how bad it might be. So with that I give you a very emotional poem that comes straight from my soul. I hope it can help or maybe just touch someone's life.

"The Recovery"
by Tim Imhulse

I sat here in Pain and Sorrow
Knowing there will be no Us tomorrow.
The emptiness lingers,
With the thought you slipped through my fingers.

We begin our new journey apart,
Each with a little of the others heart.
With the start of each new day,
We begin on farther down our separate way.

The path is long and rough,
But it builds character and makes me tough.
So, set forth from this date,
I search out for my new soul mate.

Where ever the winding path may lead,
I am careful and the signs I do heed.
I search the world for the one,
All the while trying to have some fun.

I look back and think,
Raise a glass and this I do drink:
"I would rather loved and lost, then to not loved at all,
No matter how great the fall."

Remember these words and do not forget,
Just because you lost does not mean you QUIT!!
